JPSC JSSC Fraud Case: CID Arrests Mastermind Abhay Tiwari Wife And Brother

The CID has arrested the wife and brother of mastermind Abhay Tiwari in connection with the JPSC and JSSC-CGL recruitment scam in Jharkhand. The arrests follow revelations of illegal success in government exams and a massive bribery scandal involving top officials and blacklisted companies.

In a major breakthrough regarding the massive recruitment fraud in Jharkhand's government examinations, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has intensified its crackdown, while the CID has arrested the wife and the biological brother of the mastermind, Abhay Tiwari, who was already in custody. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sushmita Tiwari, the wife of Abhay Tiwari, and Akshay Tiwari, his brother. Both are accused of securing success in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSC-CGL) examinations through illegal and fraudulent means.

Details of the Arrest Operation in Giridih

The CID team conducted a targeted operation in Giridih on Tuesday morning. During this operation, both Sushmita Tiwari and Akshay Tiwari were taken into custody after an initial round of questioning. Following their arrest, they were transported to Ranchi for further interrogation and legal proceedings. The investigation has also reached the higher echelons of the recruitment boards, as the CID is currently questioning JSSC Secretary Sudhir Gupta. It has been revealed that Akshay Tiwari was already serving as a government employee and had recently cleared the PT examination of the 14th JPSC. Meanwhile, Abhay Tiwari's wife, Sushmita Tiwari, was holding the post of Assistant Section Officer (ASO) at the time of her arrest.

The Dual Identity and Extraordinary Success of Abhay Tiwari

The investigation into the mastermind, Abhay Tiwari, has uncovered shocking details about his operations. It was found that Abhay Tiwari was leading a double life, holding two different jobs simultaneously under two different identities. In Godda district, he was employed as a Block Supply Officer under his real name, Abhay Tiwari. At the same time, he was working as a Marketing Manager for a company named TDPL under the alias Manoj Tiwari. His academic and competitive record is equally suspicious; over the last 13 years, he appeared in almost every major government examination held in Jharkhand and topped or secured the first or second rank in nearly all of them. According to the CID, Abhay Tiwari cleared 12 competitive examinations in 13 years, including prestigious ones like Indian Navy (SSR), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (Assistant), Northern Coalfields Limited, CRPF Head Constable, JSSC Police Sub-Inspector, JSSC PGT, and various JPSC roles such as ACF, FRO, and FSO, all in his first attempt.

Expansion of Investigation to JSSC-CGL

The scope of the CID's investigation has now expanded from JPSC to include the JSSC-CGL examination. On Monday, a CID team conducted a raid at the JSSC headquarters located in Namkum, Ranchi. This was followed by an extensive interrogation of JSSC Secretary Sudhir Gupta. Prior to this, the CID had questioned Shweta Gupta, the Deputy Controller of Examination at JPSC, while during her interrogation, Shweta Gupta reportedly admitted to irregularities in the examination process. She placed the responsibility on the former Chairman of JPSC, L. Khiangte, stating that the results for the 11th and 13th JPSC examinations were published under his specific instructions despite the discrepancies.

The Bribery Scandal and High-Level Involvement

Former JPSC Chairman L. Khiangte is now at the center of the CID's investigation into the alleged 14th JPSC examination scam. Khiangte had resigned from his post on July 22 and was subsequently arrested by the CID on August 10. The allegations against him involve accepting a bribe of 2 crore rupees to award government recruitment contracts to the blacklisted company TDPL. The investigation suggests a deal was struck between Khiangte and the company, where 20 percent of the total payments made to the company from the government treasury would be kicked back to Khiangte. N, while ram, the Personal Assistant to former JPSC member Ajita Bhattacharya, on Monday. He's accused of extorting 40 lakh rupees under the pretext of managing JPSC interviews.
