Congress on AAP / Kharge told Delhi-Punjab Congress leaders - do not form alliance with AAP

Congress on AAP: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is busy gathering support against the Center in Parliament these days. He is seeking support from the opposition parties in Parliament against the Centre's ordinance regarding Delhi. Some parties have announced their support. Congress leaders have also met in this regard. Party President Mallikarjun Kharge was advised by the Congress leaders of Punjab and Delhi not to support the Aam Aadmi Party. In particular, senior Delhi Congress leader Ajay Maken has categorically denied supporting Kejriwal.

The Congress leaders of Delhi told President Kharge in one voice that there should be no alliance with Arvind Kejriwal. Leaders like Ajay Maken advised the party not to support Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party. Congress leaders in Delhi are believed to have a mixed attitude. Punjab Congress leaders advised the party to stay away from the alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party. However, the decision to support or not to support the Aam Aadmi Party on the ordinance has been left to Speaker Kharge.

Governor cannot dictate the state government- Sidhu

Punjab Congress leader Amarinder Singh Raja Brar told that all the leaders have given their opinion. Now the further decision has to be taken by party leader Rahul Gandhi and President Kharge. At the same time, Navjot Singh Sidhu, who attended the meeting, told that the talks about Aam Aadmi Party are confidential. Only the Speaker and Rahul Gandhi will speak on this. He said as his view that no state government can be dictated by the Governor.

Ajay Maken gave these arguments in the meeting

It is being told in the meeting that Ajay Maken also gave a presentation regarding not opposing the ordinance. He told that the first thing is that if the party opposes this ordinance, then it will be against the wise decisions of Pandit Nehru, Sardar Patel, Ambedkar, Lal Bahadur Shastri. Second, if the ordinance is not passed, it will give Kejriwal a privilege denied to former chief ministers of the capital.
