Bihar Political: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken oath as CM for the ninth time by joining the BJP-led NDA alliance. Along with Nitish Kumar, eight ministers have also taken oath, in which four from JDU and three from BJP, one Jitan Ram Manjhi from HAM and one independent MLA have taken oath as ministers. The first meeting of Nitish Kumar's new cabinet is going to be held at 11.30 am on Monday, January 29, 2024. Probably in this meeting Nitish Kumar will distribute the portfolios of his ministers.

After taking the oath, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar while talking to the journalists said that the cabinet expansion will happen soon. He said that today 8 ministers have taken oath, including those from all three parties and independents. Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha have been made Deputy Chief Ministers.

Samrat Chaudhary, who has a distinct identity in the politics of Bihar, was elected the leader of the legislative party. He was born on 16 November 1968 in Lakhanpur village located in Tarapur assembly constituency of Munger district of Bihar. Samrat Chaudhary is 54 years old. He belongs to Koeri (Kushwaha) caste. His father Shakuni Chaudhary was MP from Khagaria. He is one of the founding members of Samata Party. With wife Mamta Chaudhary they have a son and a daughter.

Vijay Sinha left engineering and chose politics

Vijay Kumar Sinha of Bhumihar caste has left engineering and chosen politics. He has been an old worker of RSS. He was born on 5 June 1967 in Tilakpur, Lakhisarai. He has been the former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and was also a minister. He is considered a well-known personality of Bihar politics. At present he was fulfilling the responsibility of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly.

Prem Kumar has been MLA for 30 consecutive years

Prem Kumar has been elected MLA from Gaya city assembly constituency for the last 30 years. BJP has fielded Prem Kumar as a counter to Lalu Yadav's OBC politics. Prem Kumar belongs to Chandravanshi community. He has a PhD in History from Magadh University. Prem Kumar had entered student politics as a member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. Became MLA for the first time in 1990. Public Health Department from 2005 to 2008, Public Works Department from 2008 to 2010, Urban Development Department from 2010 to 2013, Leader of the Opposition from 2015 to 2017 and Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister from 2017 to 2020.

Vijay Kumar Choudhary belongs to Bhumihar caste.

Vijay Kumar Chaudhary was born on 8 January 1957 in a Bhumihar family in Samastipur district of Bihar. He has previously held the posts of Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Leader of the Janata Dal (United) Legislative Party in the Bihar Legislative Assembly and Minister of Education, Water Resources, Rural Development, Rural Works Engineering, Information and Public Relations, Agriculture, Animal and Fish Resources in the Government of Bihar. The ministries have been with him. Chaudhary served as the Home Minister in-charge and presented the government's stance on home matters in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. Known as an efficient administrator and a soft-spoken person with a clean image, he is a close confidant of Nitish Kumar.

Bijendra Prasad Yadav has been a minister 10 times

Bijendra Prasad Yadav is a member of Janata Dal (United). He was the Cabinet Minister of Energy, Planning and Development of the state under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He has been the outgoing representative of Supaul since 1990. 77 year old Bijendra Prasad Yadav was born in a Yadav family of Supaul district. His father was the head of the village. He came into politics in 1967. He was elected MLA for the first time in 1990. Till now he has been a minister in Bihar government 10 times.

Shravan Kumar's political career

Shravan Kumar is 61 years old. Started political career from JP movement. He won the elections from Nalanda Assembly for the first time in 1995 and has been winning continuously since then.

Jitan Ram's son Suman Manjhi becomes minister again

Santosh Santosh Suman Manjhi, son of Jitan Ram Manjhi, has again been made a minister in the Bihar government. Even before this, he had been the Minister of Minor Irrigation, Scheduled Castes and Tribes Welfare in the present Bihar government. He represents Hindustani Awam Morcha.
