New Delhi: In view of increasing cases of the Covid-19 in the country, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority has imposed a weekend curfew in the national capital. The weekend curfew starts from 10 pm on Fridays and till 5 am on Mondays. Informing about the same, the Delhi Police tweeted a reminder and asked users to drop queries and comments regarding the weekend curfew.

“Keeping #COVID19 in mind, Weekend Curfew shall be imposed in Delhi tomorrow onwards. If you have any questions related to it, #DelhiPolice will answer them. Please drop your queries in comments or tweet it us using #CurfewFAQ,” the Delhi Police had tweeted.

One of the users used this opportunity to ask whether he could play cricket during the time wearing masks and following social distancing. “Can we play cricket with social distancing and mask…,” asked the Twitter user.

To this question, the Delhi Police came up with a hilarious comeback. “That’s a ‘Silly Point’, Sir.  It is time to take ‘Extra Cover’. Also, #DelhiPolice is good at ‘Catching’,” responded the Delhi Police.

The national capital saw a huge surge in the number of Covid-19 cases on Friday with 17,335 fresh infections and nine deaths. The positivity rate in Delhi has also reached 17.73 percent.

In order to contain the spread of the virus, the DDMA has imposed a weekend curfew. Under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), yellow alert was already imposed in Delhi under which all the gyms, auditoriums, sports complexes, banquet halls were completely closed while the Delhi Metro, restaurants and bars were allowed to operate at 50 percent capacity. Night curfew has also been in place in the national capital under GRAP.
