Delhi / Man posing as army major rapes CISF constable siphons Rs 28 lakh arrested from bihar

New Delhi : A 28-year-old man allegedly raped a CISF woman constable in Delhi on the pretext of marrying himself as an officer of the Indian Army. Along with this, 28 lakh rupees were also cheated by promising his relative to get a government job.

Officials said on Monday that accused Deepak Kumar, his family members and at least 30 others locked the police team that came to arrest him in the room and also attacked the officers, but the accused was eventually caught.

The woman constable of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), in her complaint, said that she came in contact with accused Deepak Kumar through the matrimonial website. Deepak had told him that he was a Major in the Indian Army.

The victim told that the accused raped her on the pretext of marriage and also duped her relatives of Rs 28 lakh by falsely promising them jobs in the Army and Bihar Police. Deepak made a video while having a physical relationship and started blackmailing the woman on the basis of that.

DCP (Crime Branch) Rajesh Deo said that the police team from Delhi's Bindapur came to know that the accused was in Bihar, after which it reached there to arrest him, but he along with his family members and 30 to 40 others. They attacked the police team, locked them in a room and thrashed them.

Accused arrested from Hazaribagh in Bihar

The DCP said that on the basis of technical surveillance, it was found that he is in Hazaribagh. When our Crime Branch team reached there on September 1, the accused again did the same trick. He started shouting loudly to avoid arrest, after which 30-40 people gathered there. They tried to stop the police team for about two hours, but with the help of the local police, the accused Deepak was caught.

Accused Deepak is a science graduate

According to the DCP, the Delhi Police had announced a reward on his arrest as he was wanted in three other criminal cases in Delhi and Bihar. The court declared him an absconding criminal. Based on the woman's complaint, Deepak has been booked under sections 376, 506 and 406 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Bindapur police station in Dwarka. Police said that Deepak Kumar is a native of Arwal district of Bihar. He is a science graduate. After failing in the government job exam, he started cheating people.
