Jammu:  massive fire broke out in the Mata Vaishno Devi temple complex in Katra, Jammu. The fire broke out near counter number two near Kalika Bhawan located in the temple premises. At present, relief and rescue work is going on. So far no casualty has been reported in this incident. According to reports, the distance of the natural cave from the place where the fire broke out is about a hundred meters. Flames of fire are visible till Bhairon valley. The fire is said to have started due to a short circuit in the counting room near the VIP gate. Soon the fire took a formidable form.

According to the information received, a fire broke out inside a cash counting room adjacent to the building or sanctum. There has been considerable damage to the building. Visuals after the fire was put out showed that it was almost completely burnt out. The fire started around 4.15 pm and was brought under control by 5 pm. News agency PTI said that the initial alarm was sounded by CRPF personnel posted there.

Every month lakhs of devotees reach for the darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi. However, fortunately, this incident happened during the restrictions to deal with Corona. Due to this, not many people were present there. Had this incident happened on normal days, there could have been untoward incidents like stampede among the devotees. Let us tell you that a large number of buildings have been built along with the Vaishno Devi temple complex, in which arrangements are made for the stay, food etc. of the devotees.

The statement of Union Minister Jitendra Singh coming from Jammu and Kashmir has also come to the fore regarding this incident. He said that some time back there was a fire in Vaishno Devi, but at present it has been brought under control. Along with this, he said that we will have to keep a close watch for the next few hours.
