Pakistan, a haven of terror around the world, itself is plagued by terrorist attacks. A recent report has claimed that with the advent of Taliban rule in Afghanistan, there has been a sudden increase in terrorist attacks in Pakistan. The report says that in August 2021, Pakistan had the highest number of terrorist attacks. This is the time when Taliban rule started in Afghanistan. The average number of terrorist attacks per month in Pakistan increased from 16 in 2020 to 25 in 2021, the highest since 2017.

The latest research conducted by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Study (PICSS) states that the highest number of terrorist attacks occurred in Pakistan in 2021. If seen month-wise, in the month of August alone 45 terrorist attacks have been carried out.

At the same time, according to the report of Pakistan's prestigious Dawn newspaper, the institute has said in its report that despite a one-month ceasefire from November 10 to December 10, the total number of terrorist attacks has not decreased. On the other hand, the Pakistan publication said that the average number of terrorist attacks per month in Pakistan increased from 16 in 2020 to 25 in 2021, the highest since 2017.

The figures also highlighted that Balochistan remained the most disturbed province with 170 deaths in 103 attacks. According to the report, the highest number of injured was also reported from Balochistan, where more than 50 percent of the total injured were recorded. The report said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remained the second most affected region after Balochistan.

Experts attribute the power to the Taliban in Afghanistan behind this. He says that the role of Pakistan in this was very important. Pakistan publicly supported an end to the regional conflict but ultimately could not achieve any kind of peace because of the personal interests of the Pakistani leaders. He warned that such an act could backfire on its military and intelligence establishment, especially on Pakistan.
