Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha : Water Supply Minister Mahesh Joshi has resigned from the post of Government Chief Whip on Friday. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has accepted Joshi's resignation.

Mahesh Joshi had resigned before the budget session, which was accepted by Gehlot late evening today. Joshi has now held the post of Water Supply Minister. After Joshi's resignation, now an MLA will get a chance for the new chief whip post.

Government Deputy Chief Whip Mahendra Chaudhary is now likely to be made Chief Whip. Chaudhary is considered special of Gehlot. However, there is a long queue of contenders for this post.

Political reason behind the resignation of the chief whip in the middle of the budget session

The acceptance of Mahesh Joshi's resignation amid the budget session of the Vidhansabha is being linked to the September 25 incident. Mahesh Joshi is accused of calling the legislators to convene a parallel meeting of the Legislature Party on September 25 at UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal's bungalow.

After this, notices were issued by the Congress Disciplinary Committee to three leaders including Dhariwal, Joshi, which have been answered. Now the decision of the disciplinary committee is yet to come. Sachin Pilot had raised the issue of action against the leaders responsible for the September 25 incident two days back.

Devasthan Minister Rawat compared Gehlot to God

Here, during the debate on Sanwaliyaji and Nathdwara Temple Amendment Bill in the Assembly on Friday, Devasthan and Industries Minister Shakuntala Rawat compared CM Ashok Gehlot to God. On this, the opposition created a ruckus by expressing strong objection.

Rawat said- I am talking about God and you are jumping. When a tear comes in a man's eye, either God wipes it or Gehlot, the Chief Minister of the Congress government, did the work of wiping it. Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore objected to this and said that how the Chief Minister can be God, this comparison is wrong, it should be taken out of action. Congress MLAs strongly objected to this. There was a scuffle between the BJP and Congress MLAs, which created a ruckus.

Echo of Hanuman Chalisa, Jai Siyaram in the assembly

Earlier, the echo of Hanuman Chalisa was heard in the House. Minister Mamta Bhupesh and Rathore had a fierce argument over the definition of Hinduism. When Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore accused the Congress of questioning the faith of Ram, Women and Child Development Minister Mamta Bhupesh raised slogans of Jai Siyaram in the House. Deputy Leader of Opposition and Revenue Minister recited Hanuman Chalisa.

Minister Mamta Bhupesh said to Rajendra Rathore – At least speak on both the bills of Sanvaliyaji and Nathdwara temple, both are very important bills. It is expected from a learned person like you that at least speak on this. You have forgotten that point.

Rathore said- I go to visit Sanwalia Seth every year, I also go to Nathdwara. I am not an atheist like you, I am a believer. Expressing objection to being an atheist, Mamta Bhupesh said – it should be deleted, on what basis I was called an atheist. Rathore said that you are an atheist.

Bhupesh said that I have come with Mehandipur Balaji's tilak applied on my forehead, how did you call me an atheist, I am not a pretending believer like him. Later, the Chairman asked to remove it from the proceedings of the House.

Rathore and Minister Ramlal recited Hanuman Chalisa in the House

Rajendra Rathore challenged Mamta Bhupesh and said that he apologizes for calling him an atheist. Recite this Hanuman Chalisa, I will agree. After this, Rajendra Rathod recited some lines of Hanuman Chalisa. Education Minister BD Kalla said - you tell and I will also tell. Rathore told Kalla that you know everything. Meanwhile, Revenue Minister Ramlal Jat also stood up and started reciting Hanuman Chalisa.

Minister Mamta Bhupesh raised slogans of Jai Siyaram

Minister BD Kalla had an argument with BJP MLAs in the House regarding the definition of religion and Hindu. Meanwhile, Minister Mamta Bhupesh raised slogans of Jai Siyaram.

Rathore said - You will not become a devotee of Ram just by chanting Jai Siyaram

Rajendra Rathore said- A circular was issued on September 12, 2018 during the BJP rule regarding the land of temple forgiveness. In which the idol of the temple was considered minor and it was said that the priest of the temple can be a sub-tenant. Get worship done in the temples of Devasthan. Merely chanting Jai Siyaram will not make you a devotee of Ram. You are the people who break Ramsetu and question the faith of Ram.

Tension in the House on the definition of Hindu and religion

During the debate on the bills, there was a tussle over the definition of the words Hindu and religion. BD Kalla said that you tell what is the definition of religion, tell what is the definition of Hindu.

BJP MLA Vasudev Devnani said that one who has faith in Janmabhoomi Karmabhoomi is a Hindu, Hindu is a lifestyle. Minister BD Kalla said this definition is wrong. One who believes in scriptures, one who believes in reincarnation, one who worships cow is a Hindu, Karpatri Maharaj has said this, everyone's lifestyle is different.
