Delhi: Taking a tough stand in the case of violence on June 10 in Ranchi, Governor Ramesh Bais summoned DC and SSP along with DGP, ADG (Operation) on Monday. He asked many questions while taking information about the violence and subsequent incidents. Also gave many instructions. The Governor asked to put up the photographs of the identified miscreants with name and address at major intersections of the city. It is worth noting that the Yogi government in UP has hung the posters of miscreants at the intersections.

The Governor also warned to send the report of the entire matter to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Apart from this, the Governor also directed to submit the report about the four major crimes related to crime at the earliest. According to sources, the officials remained silent on most of the questions of the Governor.

The Governor asked why preventive action was not taken during the protest. Why were water cannons rubber bullets and tear gas not used? Why police officers and personnel were not wearing helmet-protective gear. How many arrests have been made so far and how many FIRs have been lodged. What were the inputs about the incident and what were the arrangements to deal with it. How many policemen and magistrates were deployed. The Governor directed that those who are spreading rumors about these incidents should be identified and punished. Asked whether such people have been identified and what action was taken against them.

Police picked up 47 miscreants

While the police have arrested 12 people so far, they have picked up 35 others from different places. Interrogating the detained people. Seven of those arrested are currently undergoing treatment at RIMS. At the same time, preventive action under 107 has been taken against 155 people living in 5 police station areas. Police is now engaged in identifying other miscreants through CCTV footage, call dumps and drone cameras. After the violence, the police has started searching for the miscreants. In this sequence, the Special Investigation Team has raided 42 places. In addition to 36 named, FIRs have been registered on 11 thousand unknowns at Doranda, Lower Bazar, Daily Market and Hindpidhi police stations.

Application for NIA investigation

PIL has been filed in the High Court for the investigation of Ranchi violence by NIA. Pankaj Yadav has made Ranchi DC, SSP, including Asaduddin Owaisi, Yasmin Farooqui, as respondents in the application.
