Its patients recover in a few days with the usual treatment. It can be avoided by taking some precautions. Symptoms of monkeypox usually appear six to 13 days after being infected.

Epidemiologist and infectious disease doctor Dr. Chandrakant Laharia said, 'The outbreak of monkeypox can be dealt with effectively. Smallpox can be controlled by isolating patients and their contacts and using approved smallpox vaccines. At present, vaccination of the general public should not be recommended.

- Make sure to get yourself checked when you come from a foreign trip

- By coughing, sneezing or touching the rash of an infected person
