Muqaddas Ramadan started on Saturday with the sighting of the moon. The moon was seen in many parts of the country on Saturday evening. Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari and Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid Mufti Mukarram Ahmed confirmed the sighting of the moon.

During the last two years, due to Kovid, the month of Ramzan has remained almost fuzzy. Mufti Mukarram while congratulating the entire country on Ramadan, appealed to the people to take precautions. Maulana has appealed to the common people to pray to the whole world for the end of Corona in the holy month of Ramzan.

On the other hand, all the preparations were already completed in the mosques regarding the Muqaddas Ramzan which started on Saturday. All the mosques of Delhi-NCR including the capital have been decorated like a bride. After seeing the moon, Taraweeh (recitation of Quran) started after Isha prayer (night prayer).

As soon as the moon of Ramadan was visible on Saturday, people started congratulating each other on the moon. Maulana Mufti Makram Ahmed, Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid, told that Ramadan is the most special month of the 12 months of the year. Allah is worshiped by fasting for the whole month. Compared to other days, the reward (virtue) for a good one is also very much.

Giving advice to the people, Maulana said that they should mention God as much as possible, give Zakat and other donations. Treat people with a softer heart than on normal days. Be gentle with the poor and your servants. A month of Ramadan is in a way a month of training. People fast in this month. There is a special purpose of staying hungry by fasting.

By fasting, the fasting person will realize that person who is not able to earn even two times' bread. People will have the desire to take care of such people. That is why Allah had obliged all Muslims to fast. Taraweeh started in all the mosques only after seeing the moon. Taraweeh begins with the sighting of the moon of Ramadan and ends with the sighting of the moon of Eid. Hafiz recites the Qur'an in the tarawis and people stand behind him and listen.

After two years on Ramadan, there was a glow in the markets.

With the beginning of Ramadan, huge crowds were seen in the markets. People shopped a lot. For the last two years, due to Corona, there was no crowd in the month of Ramadan due to restrictions. At present, the cases of Kovid are very less. In such a situation, people reached the market without fear. People bought macaroni, dryfruits, caps, dates and perfumes. Apart from Jama Masjid, all the Muslim-majority areas are magnified on this one-month-long festival. In Old Delhi, some dishes are seen only in Ramadan. People come from far and wide to enjoy these delicacies. It is believed that this time in Ramzan, a decent crowd will gather in the entire Old Delhi area.
