People of the Muslim community worship Allah by fasting in the holy month of Ramadan. After fasting for a month, the festival of Eid is celebrated with enthusiasm all over the world. Ramadan begins with Sehri and in the evening at Iftar, the fasting people break their fast. Sehri is done before sunrise. After sehri, the fasting person remains without water and food till the evening i.e. till the time of iftar. In the Muslim community, very young children, sick people, pregnant women and old people are exempted from fasting in Ramadan.

What is iftar

After Sehri, the fasting person fasts for the whole day without eating or drinking and worships Allah during this time. In the evening, when the sun sets, the fasting person opens the fast by eating dates and eats different types of dishes in the food. This is called Iftar.

Taraweeh in Ramadan

During Ramadan, five-time prayers are necessary for every fasting person, but during this time Taraweeh prayers have been given the most priority. Every day after the Isha prayer, a Qazi or Mufti recites it in the mosque and the rest of the people listen to it.
