Modi Cabinet: Two major decisions related to agriculture and health have been taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the budget. Union Minister Piyush Goyal informed about these decisions after the meeting. He informed that the minimum support price (MSP) of jute has been increased and it has been decided to continue the National Health Mission (NHM) for the next five years.Relief for jute farmers: 6% increase in MSPThe Modi government has increased the MSP of raw jute by 6%. Now the minimum support price of raw jute for 2025-26 will be Rs 5,650 per quintal. With this decision, jute farmers will get a direct benefit of Rs 315 per quintal.Taken with the aim of promoting jute consumption and improving the income of farmers, this decision is especially important for the farmers of states like Bihar, Bengal and Assam. About 40 lakh families cultivating jute in these states will directly benefit from this decision.Union Minister Piyush Goyal said, "This decision will not only improve the economic condition of jute farmers, but will also boost jute production and consumption. This step of the government will strengthen the goal of self-reliant India."Big step in the health sector: Extension of National Health MissionIn the cabinet meeting, it was decided to continue the National Health Mission (NHM) for the next five years to strengthen the health sector. This mission proved to be the backbone of health services during the Kovid-19 pandemic.During the Corona period, 12 lakh healthcare workers had provided health services to the people under this mission. The expansion of NHM will play an important role in strengthening health services in both rural and urban areas.This step of the government is an important initiative towards strengthening the health infrastructure of the country. Under this, emphasis will be laid on making primary and secondary level health services more effective.Recent decisions of Modi CabinetThis was the second major meeting of the Modi Cabinet this month. Earlier, the Cabinet had approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission.
