Uttarakhand / Nim trainees trapped avalanche danda 2 mountain peak after kedarnath

Uttarakhand | After Kedarnath, now due to avalanche in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, trainees taking mountaineering training are stuck on the snow mountain. 28 trainees of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), Uttarkashi are reported to be trapped after an avalanche in Draupadi's Danda-2 mountain peak. It is a matter of concern that two trainees have also died in the accident.

SDRF teams have been sent from Dehradun to rescue the trainees trapped on the snow mountain. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has spoken to Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and sought help to expedite the rescue operation. CM Dhami has requested for the help of the army for the trapped trainees, regarding which he has assured us to give all possible help from the central government.

Rapid relief and rescue operations are being carried out by the District Administration, NDRF, SDRF, Army and ITBP personnel along with the team of Nim to get the trainees out safely at the earliest. Disaster Management Officer Devendra Patwal said that there were a total of 175 people including the trainer and trainee in the training. In which 29 people have come under the grip of avalanche. 8 people have been rescued, 21 people's rescue work is in progress. Heli's help is being taken for the rescue.

Expressing grief over the incident, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that all possible help will be provided to rescue the trainees trapped due to the avalanche. It is known that Singh is going to visit Uttarakhand for two days from today. He will go to Mana and Auli in Chamoli district and celebrate Dussehra with soldiers on the China border.
