Lok Sabha Elections: Before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is starting a new exercise of opposition unity in Delhi. After meeting Lalu Yadav, today Nitish Kumar will meet Congress President Kharge and Sonia Gandhi. CM Nitish has started trying hard for opposition unity. After getting a jolt on the JPC from NCP chief Sharad Pawar, the Congress is in a mood to extend full support to Nitish in his endeavours. Sensing this, Nitish has moved from Patna to Delhi. In this stay in Delhi, his effort will be to infuse new life into the opposition unity.

On the first day of Delhi tour, Nitish met RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav. Although, he has not disclosed much about his arrival in Delhi, but today at 12.30 pm, he will also meet Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and it is believed that Nitish may meet Sonia Gandhi after this.

United opposition exercise before elections

Actually, assembly elections are going to be held in Karnataka next month. Assembly elections are also to be held in big states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Telangana this year. Obviously, if these assembly elections are a litmus test for the BJP before the 2024 epic battle, then they are also a test for opposition unity.

Their results will tell whether there is any chance of keeping all the opponents of the Modi government together around the Congress or not. However, at this time Nitish Kumar's efforts seem far-fetched amidst the rift in the opposition.

Talked with Kharge and reached Nitish

Actually, Mallikarjun Kharge had a phone conversation with Nitish Kumar after which Nitish has reached Delhi. However, uniting the opposition for Nitish Kumar will prove to be a difficult task. Because there is a lack of leaders in the opposition who accept Rahul Gandhi's leadership.

All the leaders including Mamta Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, Arvind Kejriwal, Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati talk about bringing the opposition on a single platform, but when the name of Congress and Rahul Gandhi's leadership comes up, everyone calms down. In such a situation, it can be very difficult for Nitish Kumar to bring the opposition on a single platform. However, since the cancellation of Rahul Gandhi's membership of the Lok Sabha, the opposition seems to be coming on a single platform.

Apart from Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav is also currently present in Delhi. He has reached here for ED's production.
