Lok Sabha Election / Nomination on 102 seats in 21 states from today, know how much challenge for whom

Lok Sabha Election: The bugle for Lok Sabha elections 2024 has been sounded. Notification has been issued today for 102 Lok Sabha seats of the first phase. Candidates will be able to file nomination for 102 Lok Sabha seats from 21 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Uttarakhand from today. Six states of the North-East, which have 9 Lok Sabha seats. All 39 seats of Tamil Nadu in South India and one Lok Sabha seat of Lakshadweep will be completely settled in the first phase. In the first phase, voting is on April 19 in 21 states and union territories.

Of the 102 seats in 21 states where nomination is being started for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, the last date for filing nomination in Bihar is March 28. Apart from this, nominations can be made in the remaining 20 states till March 27. The date for withdrawal of nominations is March 30, whereas in Bihar nominations can be withdrawn till April 2. For the first phase, voting will be held simultaneously for all 102 Lok Sabha seats on April 19, while the results will be declared on June 4.

How many seats of which state in the first phase

In the first phase, 2 from Arunachal Pradesh, 4 from Bihar, 4 from Assam, 1 from Chhattisgarh, 6 from Madhya Pradesh, 5 from Maharashtra, 2 from Manipur, 2 from Meghalaya, 1 from Mizoram, 1 from Nagaland, 12 from Rajasthan, Sikkim. 1 Lok Sabha seat is included in Tamil Nadu, 39 in Tripura, 8 in Uttar Pradesh, 5 in Uttarakhand, 3 in West Bengal, 1 in Andaman and Nicobar, 1 in Jammu and Kashmir, 1 in Lakshadweep and 1 in Puducherry.

Political equations of UP

In the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, elections are being held on 8 parliamentary seats of UP. This includes Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur and Pilibhit seats of Western UP. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, out of these eight seats, three were won by BJP, three by BJP and two by SP. Last time there was an alliance of SP-BSP-RLD, but this time the political situation has changed. RLD has joined hands with BJP while SP has formed an alliance with Congress.

BSP is trying its luck in the electoral field alone. BJP alliance has announced the names of candidates on four out of eight seats in the first phase, while SP has also declared its candidates on four seats. BSP has announced the names of its candidates on five seats in the first phase. There are 1.43 crore voters in 8 Lok Sabha constituencies of the first phase. Of these, 76.23 lakh are male voters while 67.14 lakh are female voters. There are 824 third gender voters.

10 seats of Bihar and MP

Elections are to be held in the first phase on four Lok Sabha seats of Bihar and six Lok Sabha seats of Madhya Pradesh. Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat and Chhindwara are the seats of Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, elections are to be held in Aurangabad, Nawada, Gaya and Jamui seats of Bihar in the first phase. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, out of these 6 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh, five were won by BJP and one seat was won by Congress in Chhindwara.

In 2019, NDA had won all the four seats of Bihar where elections are held in the first phase. Jamui and Nawada seats were won by LJP, JDU won the seat while Aurangabad seat was won by BJP. BJP has announced the names of candidates on all the seats of Madhya Pradesh, while Congress has fielded candidates on Chhindwara seat. No one has yet declared any candidate for any seat in Bihar.

Battle on 12 seats of Rajasthan

Out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan, elections are to be held in the first phase for 12 seats. The first phase includes Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur City, Jaipur Rural, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa and Nagaur seats. In the 2019 elections, BJP won 11 out of 12 seats while RLP chief Hanuman Beniwal was elected MP on one seat.

Voting on all five seats of Uttarakhand

In the first phase, elections are being held on all the five seats of Uttarakhand. Garhwal, Haridwar, Almora, Nainital and Tehri are Garhwal seats. BJP was successful in winning all five seats in both 2014 and 2019 elections. BJP has given ticket to Anil Baluni on Garhwal seat, Trivendra Singh Rawat on Haridwar seat, Ajay Tamta from Almora, Ajay Bhatt from Nainital and Mala Rajya Lakshmi from Tehri Garhwal seat. Congress has nominated Ganesh Godiyal from Garhwal, Jot Singh Gunsola from Tehri and Pradeep Tamta from Almora seat, while it has not yet declared candidates for Haridwar and Nainital seats.

Maharashtra and Bengal seats

There are elections in the first phase for 5 out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra and three out of 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal. Maharashtra's seats are Ramtek, Nagpur, Bhandara-Gondia, Gadchiroli-Chimur and Chandrapur. Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri are the seats of Bengal. In 2019, BJP had won these three seats of Bengal. Like the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Bengal, the political equations are visible this time too. While BJP and TMC are trying their electoral luck separately, Left and Congress will contest the elections together.

13 seats from seven states of North East

In the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, there are elections for 13 Lok Sabha seats in seven states of the North-East, for which the process of nomination is starting. Voting will also be held in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim in the first phase. It has two Lok Sabha seats in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Manipur. Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim have 1 Lok Sabha seat each. Apart from this, there are elections in the first phase on four Lok Sabha seats of Assam, which include Kaziranga, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh seats. Apart from this, there is also election in the first phase on one seat in Tripura, where BJP is in control.

42 seats from 4 southern states

There are elections in the first phase on 42 seats in four states of South India, which includes all 39 Lok Sabha seats of Tamil Nadu and one seat each in Lakshadweep and Andaman Nicobar in the Union Territory. Apart from this, one seat is from Puducherry. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, DMK had won 24 out of 39 seats, while including Puducherry, Congress had won nine seats, CPI, CPM had won two each, VCK and IUML had won one seat each and AIADMK had won one seat.

Puducherry seat is with Congress, last time it was won by V Vaithilingam of Congress. There is election for one seat each in Lakshadweep and Andaman in the first phase only. NCP's Mohammad Faisal had won in Lakshadweep, while Andaman and Nicobar has been a strong stronghold of Congress, but for the last few times, Congress and BJP have been winning here alternately.
