Pakistan's support in promoting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir continues unabated. A total of 24 Pakistani terrorists have been killed in the Union Territory in the last eight months, which is a solid proof of the continuous support of Pakistan to terror in the Valley. Of these 24 terrorists, eight have been killed in the Jammu region while 16 have been killed in the Kashmir region. It has been learned about all these terrorists that they were all from Pakistan.

These terrorists have been killed in encounters in Srinagar, Poonch, Pulwama, Rajouri, Anantnag, Baramulla and most of them are either Lashkar or Jaish related. Apart from this there were also some unknowns. The information received about these terrorists mainly confirms three things, the first of which is Pakistan's support to terrorism despite Pakistan's PM Imran Khan's tall claims in international forums. Second, infiltration continues across the Line of Control in both Kashmiri and Jammu, third that the main groups operating in Pakistan are Lashkar and Jaish.

On December 19, a terrorist named Saifullah alias Abu Khalid alias Shawaz was killed in a joint operation by Jammu and Kashmir Police, 24 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF. He was a resident of Karachi, Pakistan and was active in the Valley since 2016. As per police records, Saifullah has a history of terror cases including killing of civilians in the Valley.

The IGP of Kashmir had said that Abu Khalid was active in the general area of Harwan after the infiltration in 2016. Details of terrorists killed between May and December suggest that all of them belonged to Pakistan-based terror groups. The Union Home Ministry has informed the Rajya Sabha in the recently concluded winter session of Parliament that the security situation in the Valley has improved significantly since August 2019.

Describing the terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, the government had said that there were 417 incidents in the year 2018, 255 in 2019, 244 in 2020 while 203 incidents have been registered in 2021 (till November 30). At the same time, when it comes to infiltration, there were 143 incidents in the year 2018 while in 2021 (till 31 October) there have been only 28 incidents.
