New Delhi: Another shocking incident was reported from the national capital where six people including the six-day-old infant's parents allegedly tried to sell him off for Rs 3.6 lakh. However, the boy has been rescued and six people have landed in police custody.

As per reports, a childless couple among the arrested people have also been held on charges of buying the baby with help of a relative and his friend. After the incident, the child has been sent to a child care centre in Sarita Vihar.

The accused include his biological parents Govind Kumar and Pooja Devi, both residents of Gurgaon. The cops have also recovered four cheques worth Rs 40,000 and Rs 15,000 cash from them.

The other accused include Vidyanad Yadav and his wife Rampari Devi from Bihar, Raman Kumar Yadav and Haripal Singh.

The police got a kidnap call and further interrogation into the matter revealed that it was on June 8 when Govind's wife had delivered the baby boy.

He further added that they were staying at his friend Singh's house. However, he locked him and took away the child and the police registered a case of kidnapping.

According to Atul Thakur, Deputy commissioner of police (south), they smelled something fishy in Kumar's behaviour and he even did not know Singh's address on being questioned. He even showed a locked house to the cops but he was nabbed from some other place, according to Thakur.

Singh informed the cops that it was the infant's parents who gave the child to Raman. Following the incident, he was also detained and Raman informed the cops that the couple and his relatives left Delhi along with the child.

Thakur added that they rescued the child around 2.30 am from Kanpur Central when they tried to escape.

Further probe revealed that the couple from Bihar had no child and were married for 25 years. Thereby, they came in contact with Raman who made the deal through Singh. Initially, the child's parents asked for Rs 4 lakh for the deal.
