PM Modi Lays Foundation for Kota Airport, Praises Speaker Om Birla

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday virtually laid the foundation stone for the new airport in Kota, Rajasthan. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister lauded the efforts of Lok Sabha Speaker and Kota-Bundi MP Om Birla in making the airport project a reality. He emphasized that the development of Kota is visible through various ongoing projects and credited Birla's persistent efforts for the region's progress.

Foundation Stone for Kota Airport

The Prime Minister performed the foundation stone-laying ceremony via video conferencing, marking a significant step for the education hub of Rajasthan. PM Modi stated that the new airport would provide much-needed air connectivity to thousands of students and parents who travel to Kota from across the country. He noted that this project is essential for the integrated development of the region and will boost local tourism and business activities.

Appreciation for Speaker Om Birla

In his address, PM Modi spoke extensively about the leadership qualities of Om Birla. He described Birla as an outstanding Member of Parliament and an equally exceptional Lok Sabha Speaker. According to the Prime Minister, Birla is deeply committed to the Constitution and maintains high standards of parliamentary procedures. He highlighted that Birla's nature is rooted in giving the utmost respect to all parliamentarians, regardless of their political affiliations.

Management of Parliamentary Conduct

Drawing a parallel with Kota's identity as a city of education, the Prime Minister remarked that Birla manages the House like a wise head of a family, while he noted that even when faced with unruly behavior or harsh words in the House, the Speaker maintains his composure and ensures that the dignity of the Parliament is upheld. PM Modi emphasized that Birla's ability to take everyone along is a testament to his leadership and patience in handling complex legislative environments.

Infrastructure Development in Kota

The Prime Minister highlighted that Kota is rapidly advancing in terms of connectivity. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the two major railway stations in Kota are being modernized with world-class facilities. PM Modi explained that these stations are being redesigned to serve as modern hubs that reflect the city's growth. He reiterated the government's focus on creating a smooth transport network that integrates rail, road, and air travel.

Connectivity via Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

Discussing road infrastructure, PM Modi mentioned the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which passes through Kota and Bundi. He stated that this expressway is opening new doors for the development of the entire region by reducing travel time and improving logistics, while the Prime Minister concluded by stating that the combination of the new airport, modernized railway stations, and the expressway will transform Kota into a major economic and educational powerhouse in Northern India.
