PM Modi Schedule: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on an eight-day foreign trip from July 2, in which he will visit five countries in Africa and Latin America—Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil and Namibia. This visit is not only an effort to strengthen India's global strategic role, but also reflects India's effective participation in South-South cooperation and multilateral forums.1. Ghana (July 2-3): Historical re-entryPM Modi will start his tour from Ghana, a country in West Africa. This will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister in 30 years. He may meet President Nana Akufo-Addo and the Prime Minister and sign agreements in economic cooperation, defense partnership and energy sector. Apart from this, Modi will also try to strengthen India's role with ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) and the African Union. He will also address the Parliament of Ghana.2. Trinidad and Tobago (3-4 July): Strategic partnership with Indian heritageThis will be PM Modi's first visit to this Caribbean nation. Here he will meet President Christine Carla Kangalu and Prime Minister Kamala Prasad-Bissessar. This country with a large population of Indian origin is culturally close to India. Modi can address a joint session of Parliament here and agreements can be reached on education, health and digital cooperation.3. Argentina (4-5 July): Focus on trade and energyDuring his visit to Argentina, Modi will meet President Javier Miley. In this meeting, there will be in-depth discussion on defense, agriculture, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy and bilateral trade. Argentina is rich in lithium and other mineral resources, which is being considered strategic for India's energy needs.4. Brazil (5-8 July): 17th BRICS summitModi will reach Brazil to attend the 17th summit of the BRICS group. He will also meet President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and hold talks on topics such as trade, defence, space, health and energy security. This will be his fourth visit to Brazil. From the platform of BRICS, India will raise the voice of developing countries on global platforms.5. Namibia (July 9): Partnership on heritage and mineral resourcesThe last stop of the tour will be Namibia, where Modi will meet President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitw. He will pay tribute to freedom fighter and first President Dr. Sam Nujoma and may also address the Parliament. It is noteworthy that cheetahs were brought to India from Namibia itself, which has increased cooperation between the two countries in biodiversity conservation.India's emerging image in global diplomacyThis multi-sectoral tour of Prime Minister Modi is an example of putting India's "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" policy on the ground. This visit will not only strengthen bilateral relations, but will also give new dimensions to India's global leadership capability. Regions like Africa and Latin America hold a key role in India’s energy, food security, defence, and economic strategy—and this visit is a decisive step in that direction.
