5G Launch: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched 5G telephony services in the country, marking the beginning of the era of ultra high speed internet on mobile phones. PM Modi launched 5G services in select cities at the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022. These services will be gradually made available across the country over the next few years. During this, while Prime Minister Modi enumerated the benefits of 5G, he also targeted RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in gestures.

Actually Lalu Yadav had made a tweet on 2 September 2016, in which he said, 'Garib data will khaye or flour? Data is cheap, flour is expensive, this is their definition of changing the country. Please tell me, who will solve the problem of call drop? PM Modi today answered the same thing without naming Lalu Yadav.

PM Modi said, 'There was a time when a handful of elite class people doubted the ability of poor people. He suspected that poor people would not even understand the meaning of digital. But I have always had faith in the understanding of the common man of the country, in his conscience, in his inquisitive mind.

'Digital India has given everyone a platform'

The Prime Minister said, 'Today we have small traders, small entrepreneurs, local artists and artisans, Digital India has given everyone a platform, a market. Today you go to a local market or vegetable market and see. Even a small street vendor will tell you, 'UPI', not cash. This change shows how thinking becomes empowered when convenience is accessible. 'Whether it is farmers, or small shopkeepers, we have given them a way to meet their daily needs through the app.'

Jio's 5G service will start across the country by December 2023

Billionaire businessman Mukesh Ambani on Saturday announced that his telecom company Reliance Jio will launch 5G services across the country by December next year. Jio is in the process of preparing to launch 5G services by the end of this month. In the program of India Mobile Congress-2022, Ambani said that Jio will start 5G affordable services and these services will be made available in every corner of the country by December 2023.
