Highlights of the President's address to the House...

I am happy to address this joint session of Parliament. Just a few months ago, the country entered the Amritkal after completing 75 years of its independence. The period of 25 years of Amritkal is the golden century of independence and the time for building a developed India.

We have an opportunity to create an era before us. For this, you have to work with 100% ability. We have to build such a nation by 2047, which has the glory of the past and every golden chapter of modernity. We have to make a self-reliant India. One who is capable of discharging human responsibilities. Where there is no poverty, the middle class is rich. Youth should be two steps ahead of time. May there be such an India, whose diversity is brighter and unity more unshakable.

When this truth will come alive in 2047, history will also observe its foundation. Today this time of Amritkal has become important. For the first time the people of the country gave my government the opportunity to serve, so we started with the mantra of development for all. Everyone's efforts have also been added to it over time. This mantra has become an inspiration for nation building.

My government will complete 9 years in a few months. In these 9 years, the people of India saw positive changes. Today the confidence of every Indian is at its peak. The outlook of the world towards India has changed. Earlier we used to depend on the world, today we are solving the problems of the world.

The modern infrastructure that we wished for has started being built in the country. Today India has a digital network, from which developed countries are also taking inspiration. The country wanted freedom from corruption, it is getting freedom from it. Today the country is being recognized for fast development and decisions taken with a far-reaching vision.

We have reached number 5 from the world's 10th economy. This is the foundation which will boost the confidence of a developed India in the coming 25 years.

Lord Basaveshwara had said that work is worship and Shiva is in work. On the path shown by him, the government is actively engaged in nation building. India has a stable, fearless and decisive government that works for big dreams. Today India has a government that respects the honest. Today India has a government working for permanent solution of poverty and empowerment.

Today, India has a government which puts public welfare first through innovation and technology. There is a government that removes every obstacle of women. Along with progress, there is a government that protects wisdom. It is a government which is moving forward with confidence regarding its basic role.

I express my gratitude to the countrymen that they elected a stable government for two consecutive terms. The government kept the national interest paramount. From surgical strikes to crackdown on terrorism, from LoC to LAC, every bad attempt was eliminated. From Article 370 to triple talaq, the identity of the government became the government that took decisive decisions.

Wherever there is political instability in the world, those countries are surrounded by crisis. Due to the decisions taken by our government, India is in a better position than the rest of the world today. I am of the clear opinion that corruption is the biggest enemy of social justice and democracy. We made sure that the honest will be respected. There will be no place for the corrupt.

Today, there is a system of e-market place for tenders and purchases in government works. Transactions worth more than Rs 3 lakh crore took place in this. Honor is given to those who make honest contribution in nation building. The life of the countrymen was made easier by eliminating the complexity in income tax filing. Cash less brought transparency in the system. Today returns are received within a few days of filing ITR.

Permanent reforms like Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, One Nation-One Ration have been made. In the past years, a transparent system was prepared in the form of Digital India. The money of more than 300 schemes directly reaches the accounts of the beneficiaries. An amount of more than 27 lakh crore has been delivered. The World Bank says that due to these schemes, India has been able to save people from poverty during the Corona period.

When corruption stops and every penny of tax is put to good use, the Government of India also feels proud. Voters want the schemes to be such that they provide a permanent solution to the problem.

Garibi Hatao is not just a slogan, the government is addressing the concerns of the poor. making her stronger. Disease is a major cause of poverty. Illness demoralizes the poor family. Generations drown in debt. For this Ayushman Yojana was started. Under this, more than 50 crore countrymen are getting free treatment.

Today medicines are being given in 9000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras of the country. 20 thousand crore rupees are saved from this. The poor have got help of one lakh crore from both these schemes.

It is written in the scriptures that the thinking of others is not correct. The government has worked for every section. In some years basic facilities have reached 100 per cent population or are close to the target. The benefits of agricultural schemes should be given to the right beneficiaries, no one should be deprived.

During the Corona period, it had become difficult for the poor all over the world to survive. India is one of those countries which gave top priority to save the poor. Tried that no poor person sleeps hungry.

We will run the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana further. This is the identity of a sensitive and poor-friendly government. Under the scheme, three and a half lakh crores have been spent for free food grains to the poor. Today this scheme is being praised all over the world.

The government fulfilled the wishes of every society which was deprived for centuries. Fulfilling the wishes of the poor, Dalits, backward, tribals, gave them an opportunity to dream. No work and effort is small. Everyone has a role in development.

A large number of people do business on street vendors, carts, footpaths. The role of these comrades in development was also appreciated. For the first time they were linked to formal banking and arranged for cheap loans. Incentives are being provided for digital transactions. Loans were given to 40 lakh friends.

11 crore small farmers are also a priority. To make them strong, assistance of more than 2.25 lakh crore rupees was given under the Kisan Samman Nidhi. Of these, 3 crore beneficiaries are women. So far these women farmers have received Rs 54,000 crore from this. Crop insurance for small farmers, Kisan Credit Card limit increased. Cattle herders were also added.

Started work on Vibrant Village to provide facilities to border villages. Infrastructure was prepared for security. The Left wing, which has become a major threat in the last few decades, has also remained confined to a few districts.

Women empowerment was one of the achievements of the government. The name of women power is poetry. It was written by Odia poet Utkal Bharati 100 years ago. 'The women of India are neither humble nor inferior in comparison to anyone on earth. His fame will not disappear for ages.' It is a matter of pride that today our sisters and daughters are hoisting the flag in the world according to this dream.

At the center of every scheme has been the sense of employment, empowerment and upliftment of women. Where old beliefs had to be broken, he did not back down. Daughters are growing under Beti Bachao. For the first time the number of women is more than that of men. His health has also improved. We were also successful in saving the lives of the mother and children. 50 percent of the beneficiaries of Ayushman are women.

Separate toilet, sanitary pad scheme in government school has reduced the drop out rate of girls. Clean India increased dignity and also earned respect. Several steps were also taken in the education policy. It has been decided that there should be no restriction for women in any work. Emphasis was placed on their recruitment from mining to the front in the army. Daughters are studying in military and military training schools.

The government increased the maternity leave from 12 weeks to 26 weeks. 70 percent of the beneficiaries of Mudra Yojana are women. This increased their economic power. Their confidence increased as the names of women were registered in the PM Awas Yojana. 9 crore women are associated with more than 80 lakh self-help groups. They have been given help worth lakhs of crores.

The government has chosen the path of consolidating heritage and giving priority to development. Today, on the one hand Ayodhya Dham is being constructed in the country, while on the other hand the modern Parliament House is also being built. We have built Kedarnath, Kashi Vishwanath and Mahakal Lok, and medical colleges are being built in every district.

While developing pilgrimages, India is also becoming the biggest space power of the world. India has also launched the first private satellite. On one hand, we are moving on the path shown by saints like Adi Shankaracharya, Basaveshwara, on the other hand, India is becoming a hub of hi-tech knowledge.

India is increasing traditional crops of natural farming millets. Also developed technology like nano urea. We are increasing the infrastructure for agriculture, giving strength to the farmer with drone technology, solar power. Mapping of village houses is being done by drone. Hundreds of modern Vande Bharat trains are being launched. River-water routes and ports are also being modernized.

Efforts to get rid of every mark of slavery and every mentality are going on continuously. What was once the Rajpath is now the path of duty. The statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is making every Indian proud. We honored Netaji even in Andaman and Nicobar. The island here is dedicated to Netaji. 21 islands have also been named after Param Vir Chakra winners.

The National War Memorial today is a symbol of national valor. The Navy has got the emblem of Shivaji Maharaj. Museums of freedom fighters like Bhagwan Birsa Munda are being built. The Prime Minister's Museum has been built to show the contribution of every Prime Minister.

Getting the benefit of Made in India and self-reliant India. Manufacturing capacity is increasing. We have brought Agniveer scheme for the youth. The youth have proved themselves through sports as well. Khelo India Games, Centers scheme has been launched to find talent.

The speed at which the government is working for the development of the country is unprecedented. Everyday 11 thousand houses are built for the poor. Every day 2.5 lakh people are connected to broadband. Gave more than 55 thousand gas connections. 700 crore loan was given. A medical college has been set up every month. Every day 2 colleges have been established. Every week a university is formed.

In 2 years, India has given more than 220 crore vaccine doses. Between 2004 and 2014, 145 medical colleges were opened. From 2014 to 2022, more than 260 medical colleges have been opened. India is strengthening the global supply chain. The world is looking towards India with hope. This year we are leading the G-20.

With the mantra of One Earth-One Family-One Future, we are looking for solutions to the challenges. This is the best phase of India's global relations. We expanded the role by keeping the national interest paramount.

Be it the Afghanistan earthquake or Sri Lanka crisis, we were the first to reach with humanitarian aid. We brought our citizens who were in trouble safely from Afghanistan and Ukraine. India also helped citizens of many other countries.

India's voice against terrorism is being heard on every platform. India cleared its role on terrorism in UN. The government is also putting the concerns of cyber security in front of the world. We are emphasizing on modernization of military power. India's infinite journey as the mother of democracy is full of pride. We developed democracy as a human institution. India will continue to grow in the years to come. Democracy will be strong in future also.

India's knowledge, science and spirituality has been showing the way to the world for centuries and will continue to do so in the centuries to come. The ideals and values of India remained unbreakable even during the period of slavery and will remain unbreakable even in the future. India's identity as a nation was immortal in the past as well and will remain immortal in future also.

It should be our endeavor to set goals that seem difficult and achieve them. Try to achieve today what is meant to be tomorrow. What others are trying to do later, let us do today.

Let us imbibe that Ved sentence, in which it is said – let us all walk together step by step, there should be a flow of unity in the resolution and the conscience should be united. Fulfill the oath of the constitution by walking on the path of duty in the great yagya of nation building.
