Both of them made a partnership of 138 runs in 62 balls for the first wicket. Narine scored the sixth half-century of his IPL career and Salt scored the fifth half-century of his IPL career. After the dismissal of these two, the team kept losing wickets at regular intervals. At one time Kolkata's projected score was 280+ runs, but the team could score only 261 runs. Venkatesh Iyer was out after scoring 39 runs in 23 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes.
