Rajnath Singh Warns Pakistan: Look At Bengal And Face Further Disintegration

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh issued a stern warning to Pakistan following provocative remarks by its Defense Minister Khawaja Asif. Recalling the 1971 war, Singh stated that any misadventure regarding Bengal could lead to Pakistan splitting into multiple fragments.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has issued a formidable response to the provocative statements made by Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif. Speaking to the media during a roadshow in Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, Singh advised Pakistan to recall its history before issuing threats to India. The Defense Minister emphasized that Pakistan should avoid the grave mistake of challenging India's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Reference to the 1971 Liberation War

Recalling the events of 55 years ago, Rajnath Singh reminded Pakistan of the 1971 war. He stated that when Pakistan attempted to target Bengal at that time, it resulted in the country being split into two, leading to the creation of Bangladesh. Singh warned that if Pakistan dares to look at Bengal again, only God knows how many pieces it will be divided into this time. He characterized Khawaja Asif's statement as highly provocative and urged the Pakistani leadership to learn from their past military failures.

Context of Pakistan's Provocative Threat

The exchange follows a controversial statement by Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, who had reportedly warned India of a retaliatory strike on Kolkata in response to any future military misadventure. This statement was viewed by the Indian government as an attempt to incite tension. Rajnath Singh's rebuttal serves as a clear diplomatic and military warning that India remains vigilant and prepared to defend its borders against any external threats.

Critique of Mamata Banerjee's Stance

During his visit to West Bengal, Rajnath Singh also addressed the political controversy involving Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The Chief Minister had previously questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence regarding Pakistan's threat and demanded his resignation. Singh countered these remarks by accusing the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government of practicing politics of appeasement. He alleged that the state government has encouraged infiltration for vote-bank politics and has failed to maintain administrative integrity.

Allegations of Misgovernance in West Bengal

Addressing a public gathering in Barrackpore, the Defense Minister launched a scathing attack on the TMC's 15 year tenure in West Bengal. He claimed that the state has been pushed into a cycle of corruption and misrule. Singh asserted that the law and order situation in the state is deteriorating and accused the ruling party of dividing society on the basis of religion and caste. He emphasized that politics should be conducted on the principles of justice and humanity rather than communal polarization.
