Crime: A gruesome incident has come to light in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. His pregnant wife, two children and mother-in-law were kidnapped and all tortured for four days due to the refusal by a Dalit man to cut the tree. All were rescued after a journalist gave information to the police on Wednesday in Chhatarpur district, 350 km from Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal. Meanwhile, the pregnant woman is alleged to have raped her in front of her children.

Police have said that the main accused is from the village and he has been arrested on Thursday. However, two of his close fled before he was caught. On Thursday, the woman told reporters that she was raped by a domineering village. However, the police did not mention rape in the FIR lodged in the case.

The three accused named in the FIR have been charged under the provisions of injury, kidnapping, obscenity and under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Chhatarpur Superintendent of Police Sachin Sharma said that they will add sections related to rape in the FIR in view of the revelation of the woman in front of the media. Sachin said, "There are bruises on the body of the woman and in her complaint she only informed the police about the physical torture." She did not tell us about any sexual assault, but if she is telling then we will add the rape section in the FIR. ''

At the same time, Rajnagar police station in-charge Pankaj Sharma said that the main suspect had called a 32-year-old Dalit laborer to cut some trees in his farm. But he reportedly refused on the grounds that he was not well. The worker was beaten to be punished but eventually managed to escape. He further said, "Later, the accused reached the laborer's house and beaten his pregnant wife, two children and mother. The accused kidnapped him and tortured him for four days. ''

The police officer said that a local journalist heard about the incident and reported it to the police. Sharma said that the police rescued him on Wednesday and admitted him to the local hospital, from where he has been discharged.
