Retired income tax officer Sukhdev Singh and his wife Gurpreet Kaur were gunned down by unidentified assailants with sharp-edged weapons late on Wednesday night in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, a posh area of Ludhiana. The accused fled from the spot after completing the crime within a few minutes.
The retired income tax officer was talking to his daughter when the incident took place. When the daughter reached the spot after hearing the screaming of the parents on the phone, both were lying in a pool of blood. After that he informed the police about it. After getting the information, Police Commissioner Kaustubh Sharma reached the spot along with the police force and started investigation. The police commissioner says that the entry of the killers was friendly, due to which the accused fled after committing the crime. According to the information, a neighbor saw a person climbing the wall of their house. After that he shouted. Police have registered a case of murder. According to the police, the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the area is being scrutinized.
