IND vs AFG: India has registered its second consecutive win in the ODI World Cup-2023. The team defeated Afghanistan by 8 wickets on Wednesday night. India won the first match against Australia by 6 wickets. With this victory, Team India got 4 points and reached second place in the points table. India will now face Pakistan on October 14 in Ahmedabad. Afghanistan won the toss and batted first and scored 273 runs for 8 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. In reply, Team India achieved the target in just 35 overs. Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored a century on 63 balls. He played an inning of 131 runs. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets in the first innings.

Virat's fifty, finished the match with a four

Virat Kohli played a not out inning of 55 runs in 56 balls. He made India win the match by 8 wickets by hitting a four on the last ball of the 35th over. Virat hit 6 fours in the innings and also made a partnership of 68 runs with Shreyas Iyer. Shreyas remained not out after scoring 25 runs. Virat had also scored 85 runs in the first match against Australia.

Rohit scored 131 runs on 84 balls

Rohit became the first player to score 7 World Cup centuries

Rohit scored a century on 63 balls against Afghanistan. He became the first player in the world to score 7 centuries in the ODI World Cup. He broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar, who has 6 centuries in 44 innings. Rohit had scored one century in 2015 and 5 centuries in 2019.

This was the 31st century of Rohit's ODI career. In terms of most centuries in ODI, he left behind Australia's Ricky Ponting, who has 30 centuries to his name. Rohit reached third place in terms of most centuries. Sachin Tendulkar is at first position (49 centuries) and Virat Kohli is at second position (47 centuries).

Rohit had also completed his fifty in just 30 balls. He scored a century on 63 balls. He became the player for India to score a World Cup century in the fewest balls. He broke the 40-year-old record of Kapil Dev, who had scored a century off 72 balls against Zimbabwe in 1983.

Ishaan was out after scoring 47 runs

Ishan Kishan, who came to open with Rohit Sharma, scored 47 runs. He was dismissed by Rashid Khan. Ishaan made a partnership of 156 runs with Rohit.

Rohit Sharma gave India a fast start in the first 10 overs of the innings. He made a fifty and took India's score to 94 runs in 10 overs. There was a century partnership between Rohit and Ishaan in the 12th over itself.

Rohit Sharma becomes sixer king of international cricket

Rohit Sharma became the sixer king of international cricket by hitting his third six in the innings against Afghanistan. Including all three formats, Rohit had 556 sixes. He broke the record of Chris Gayle of West Indies, who had hit 553 sixes in 453 matches.

Rohit has hit 77 sixes in T-20, 182 in Test and 297 sixes in ODI. Rohit also completed 1000 ODI World Cup runs in this innings. He achieved this record in 19 innings. He became the fastest Indian to do so.

Omarzai-Shahidi took over Afghanistan
