New Delhi : BJP leader and actress Sonali Phogat's brother Rinku Dhaka on Friday said his family is "satisfied" with the way the investigation into her death is progressing. He said that the family will now focus on the punishment for the killers of Sonali Phogat and justice for Phogat. Let us inform that Sonali Phogat was given a final farewell in Hisar, Haryana.

Sonali Phogat's brother Rinku, as quoted by news agency ANI, said, "The CCTV footage has revealed the truth. We performed the last rites of our sister today, [we] will now look into the further process to get her justice." Phogat's brother-in-law Kuldeep Phogat said that the family has been pushing for his murder since the very beginning. “She was healthy, she did not have any disease. Sudhir Sangwan made him drink intoxicants. He called us, said something was mixed in his food. She was scared. That was the night of his murder."

After registering a murder case in Sonali Phogat's death, Goa Police said that CCTV footage of Curlies restaurant in Anjuna shows Sonali Phogat being forcibly made to drink by Sudhir Sangwan and his associate Sukhwinder Singh, after which she started stumbling. .

IG Omvir Singh Bishnoi told reporters, “We do not know which chemical was mixed in the drink that was forced upon him but it is a synthetic drug. Unless (there) there is a chemical analysis, we cannot say for sure.'

The accused confessed the crime

Police said the duo confessed to drugging Phogat during interrogation. Both were arrested and produced before a judge, who sent them to police custody for two days.

Significantly, earlier on Thursday, the post-mortem report of Phogat said that the injury marks on his body were confirmed. However, Bishnoi had earlier said that they were only minor injuries and were not the cause of his death.

Will consider CBI probe

Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that the state government may consider a CBI probe into Sonali Phogat's death if her family demands it in writing.
