India / Terror module busted by ATS in UP, 2 terrorists linked with Al-Qaeda arrested

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) nabbed two suspected Al Qaeda terrorists in Lucknow on Sunday. Explosives and a pressure cooker bomb were also recovered during the raids, according to top officials.

The two men arrested by the ATS have been identified as Maseeruddin and Minhaj. Senior officials of the Uttar Pradesh Police say the UP ATS has uncovered a suspected terror plot.

ADG (Law and Order), Uttar Pradesh, Prashant Kumar told India Today TV, "ATS UP has uncovered a big terror module. The team has arrested two terrorists linked with al-Qaeda's Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind."

According to sources, the UP ATS is conducting searches across the state in connection with the alleged terror plot. A search party has also been sent to the residence of Minhaj Ahmed's father.
