MCD Election 2022: Delhi Election Commission has announced the dates for MCD elections. Announcing the elections in a press conference today, the Election Commission said that, in Delhi, voting for MCD will be held on December 4 and voting will be held on December 7 and after that the results will be announced. With the announcement of elections in Delhi, now the strict code of conduct has come into force in the state.

104 wards reserved for women

The Election Commission said that, after the delimitation, there are now 250 wards in MCD, where there will be a total of 250 AROs. There will be 2 thousand sector magistrates. 68 General Observers will be deployed. The Election Commission said that out of 250 wards, 104 wards will be reserved for women, 42 seats will be reserved for scheduled castes. With this, voting will be held on December 4 from 8 am to 5.30 am.

Candidates will be able to file nomination from 7th

On the other hand, if we talk about the nomination of candidates, then the nomination for the MCD elections will start from November 7. Candidates will be able to file their nominations till November 14. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on November 16. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers has been fixed as November 19.

More than 50 thousand EVMs will be used for voting

In Delhi's MCD elections, elections will be held in 250 wards of 68 assembly seats. Elections will not be held in the wards of 2 assembly seats. EVM machines will be used for voting in elections. For which the commission will use more than 50 thousand machines. Along with this, more than 1 lakh employees will be used to conduct the elections. Loudspeakers will be banned during election campaign. However, it can be used with permission.
