Due to the Western Disturbance, there has been a slight decrease in the temperature in the north-west and central parts of the country and there is also relief from the heat wave. Another Western Disturbance is going to be active from April 18, hence the temperature is likely to drop. Thunderstorm or light dust storm may occur over parts of Haryana and Northwest Rajasthan. Light rain is possible at isolated places over northern parts of Punjab and Haryana.

According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of heat will be less in North-West India. Due to cloudy weather, the temperature is expected to decrease by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. The heat will be less over Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. This effect is visible in the north-west part due to a western disturbance.

Temperature below 40 degrees in Delhi

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no forecast of heat wave in Delhi for the next five-six days. Wind blowing and cloudy weather will bring relief from the heat. The temperature will decrease by 2-3 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature can remain below 40 degree Celsius. The heat wave wreaked havoc in Delhi from April 9 to 11. This was the highest temperature in the first 15 days of April in the last 72 years.

Cyclonic Circulation over East UP

According to private weather agency Skymet, a Western Disturbance remains over North Pakistan and adjoining areas. The Cyclonic Circulation lies over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. A cyclonic circulation is also persisting over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas. The trough is extending from Vidarbha to Southeast Arabian Sea across Marathwada, Interior Karnataka and North Kerala.

During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls occurred over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad. At the same time, light to moderate rains occurred over Northeast India, parts of Sikkim, Lakshadweep, southern parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Scattered light rain also occurred over South Karnataka, South Chhattisgarh and Interior Odisha. Dusty wind is blowing over parts of Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and Delhi & NCR.

Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy rain is likely over Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Thunderstorm or light dust storm may occur over parts of Haryana and Northwest Rajasthan. Light rain is possible at isolated places over northern parts of Punjab and Haryana. Heat wave conditions are possible over isolated parts of East Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Western parts of Uttar Pradesh.
