Mumbai | Once again there is a sound of new wave of Corona in the country. There has been a spurt in corona cases in two metros Delhi and Mumbai. There has been an increase in 33 percent of corona cases in Mumbai, while 22 percent more new cases have been reported in the country's capital Delhi. 2293 new cases were reported in Mumbai on Wednesday, which is the highest daily corona cases since 23 January.

The cities of Mumbai and Delhi have seen a huge jump in daily corona cases amid the outbreak of the fourth wave of corona in the country. On Wednesday, 1375 new cases of corona were reported in Delhi and two deaths were also registered. At the same time, 2293 new corona cases were registered in metropolitan Mumbai.

Mumbai city's civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a medical bulletin that 2,293 new cases of corona were registered in the city on Wednesday, which is the highest daily corona cases since January 23. Apart from infection, one death of corona has also been registered.

BMC said that with this number, the total number of corona cases in the city has increased to 10,85,882, while the number of deaths has increased to 19,576. The city has crossed the 2,000 daily cases mark after almost five months. Earlier on 23 January, 2,550 corona cases were registered in Mumbai and 13 deaths occurred. Earlier on Tuesday, 1,724 new cases of corona and two deaths were registered in Mumbai.

Corona cases increased in Delhi too

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health, Government of Delhi, 1,375 new corona cases were reported in the capital of the country on Wednesday, while not a single death has been registered. However, the positivity rate has increased to 7.10 per cent from 6.50 per cent on Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, 1,118 new corona cases and 2 deaths were reported in the national capital. The Health Department in its latest bulletin said that with the new cases reported on Wednesday, the number of corona cases in Delhi has risen to 19,15,905 and the death toll is 26,223.
