Lucknow. Before the Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh, the State Election Commission has issued instructions to all district officials. These instructions have been issued for elections in relation to the Covid-19 epidemic. It was said in the instruction that it will be mandatory for every worker engaged in election work to apply a face mask. Every employee engaged in election work will download the Arogya Setu app on mobile and it will be mandatory to use it.
It will be mandatory to sanitize every venue and polling station selected for election work before it can be used. The Election Commission has said that all the workers participating in the election work will have to be tested through thermal scanners.At the district level, the Chief Medical Officer or the health officers nominated by him have also been asked to make the nodal officer. Directors have been instructed to make complete arrangements for sanitizing those who come to submit nominations in the Returning Officer's Room. At the same time, it has been made compulsory for people coming to enroll in the election. Without masks, they will not be allowed to enter the room.There will be such vigilance in polling stationsPolling party members, polling agents have been asked to make seating arrangements keeping in mind the social distance on polling day. It will be compulsory for every person entering the polling station, to remove the mask only if the voter's identity is suspected.
