NITI Aayog Meeting / This is how India will become the third largest economy, What was decided in the meeting?

The 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which 31 out of 36 states participated. The main theme of the meeting was "Developed States for Developed India". The PM urged the states to prepare their vision documents and Operation Sindoor was praised.

NITI Aayog Meeting: The 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which historic participation was seen to decide the direction of the country's development. 31 out of 36 states and union territories participated in this meeting, which was the highest participation till date. This meeting was not only an important step towards strengthening the federal structure of India, but also became an opportunity to realize the vision of 'Developed State for Developed India'.

Some states were absent, yet the resolve of national unity was seen

NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subramaniam informed that Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal, Bihar and Puducherry could not attend the meeting this time. Despite this, the rest of the states participated enthusiastically and shared the vision of development of their respective states. This reflects the strength of India's federal structure, where different states with their specialties unite for a national purpose.

India moving towards rapid development

In the meeting, BVR Subramaniam highlighted the economic scenario of India and said that today India has become a $4 trillion dollar economy and has left Japan behind. He hoped that if the plans continue to be implemented, India will become the third largest economy in the world in the next three years.

Making progress in this direction, 17 states have prepared their development vision documents. States like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat have already made their documents public, while other states are preparing to do so by August.

Key agenda of the Governing Council: 'Developed States for Developed India'

The main theme of this meeting was 'Developed States for Developed India'. The Prime Minister urged all the Chief Ministers to prepare a long-term vision for their states, which becomes a part of a comprehensive national vision for India as a whole. This vision empowers the decentralized process of policy making and makes the states partners in the journey of development along with the Center.

Introducing National Unity on Operation Sindoor

The meeting expressed unanimous appreciation for ‘Operation Sindoor’ from all participants. The strategic successes of the defence forces and the leadership of Prime Minister Modi were lauded as a powerful initiative towards national security. The Prime Minister emphasised the need to transform this operation into a social strength, not just a military success.

Future Direction: Emphasis on Manufacturing and Services

Prime Minister Modi also made it clear that if India has to reach the next stage of development, then the states will have to pay special attention to the manufacturing and services sector. This will boost employment, investment and innovation and India will be able to become a leader in global competition.
