The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced the Indian team for the three-match ODI series against Australia. Along with announcing the team, BCCI has informed that Rohit Sharma will not take over the captaincy in the opening ODI of the series. He will not be able to be a part of the team due to family reasons. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead the team. This will be the first time in the ODI format when Hardik Pandya will be seen captaining.

Since T20 World Cup 2022, Hardik Pandya is taking charge of the T20 team. Hardik Pandya's figures in T20 format are quite impressive. Hardik Pandya has so far taken the command of Team India in 11 T20 matches, out of which Team India has won in 8 matches and has faced defeat in only 2 matches. There, one match has remained inconclusive.

The series will start from March 17

The first ODI of the series between India and Australia will be played in Mumbai on 17 March. After this, the second ODI will be played in Visakhapatnam on March 19, while the third and final ODI of the series will be played in Chennai on March 22.
