Black Fungus: After recovering from corona infection in many parts of the country, people are becoming patients of mucomycosis or black fungus. In states like Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, many people have died due to this dangerous infection and many people have become victims of blindness. Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Friday shared many important information about the black fungus. Along with presenting its symptoms, he has also given advice on what to do and what not to avoid.

The Health Minister said, "Awareness and early detection can prevent the spread of fungal infection." He has shared four slides on Twitter, which provide very important information. The government has said that several steps are being taken to control mucoramycosis and availability of Amphotericin B will be ensured for its treatment. Doctors are prescribing this medicine to treat people suffering from Mucoramycosis.

What is Mucoramycosis or Black Fungus?

It has been reported by the Health Minister that it is a fungal infection which reduces the ability of people with health problems to fight environmental microbes.

Which patients are most likely to have mucoomycosis?

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has said that people who are suffering from other serious illnesses or are taking voriconazole therapy, uncontrolled diabetes, weakening immunity due to overuse of steroids or prolonged stay in ICU for fungal infections. Are sensitive.

Symptoms of mucomycosis

The Health Minister has said that people with mucoramycosis may have red marks or pain near the eyes or nose. Apart from this, symptoms such as fever, headache, phlegm, shortness of breath, vomiting of blood and changes in mental balance can occur.

What to do or not?

Another slide shared by the Health Minister said that hyperglycaemia should be kept under control. If people with diabetes are infected with Kovid, keep an eye on the blood glucose level after discharge. Steroids should be used with caution. Clean and sterile water should be used during oxygen therapy. Antibiotic and anti-fungal drugs should be used judiciously.

People have been advised not to ignore the symptoms. Do not treat all cases of nasal congestion as bacterial sinuses, especially in corona patients. Do not hesitate to get tested and do not delay in its treatment.
