Lok Sabha Election: People of Kaiserganj and Rae Bareli, two major districts of UP, are waiting for the names of the candidates of their area for the Lok Sabha elections, but the major political parties have not yet announced the names of the candidates on these two seats. There seems to be only one reason for this - Kaiserganj is a high-profile seat where there are high profile leaders who have been discussed a lot and that is Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Let us tell you that voting is to be held in seven phases on 80 seats of UP and in Rae Bareli and Kaiserganj, voting will be done on May 20, for which the date of nomination of candidates is May 3.

Why is there a problem in Rae Bareli?

Rae Bareli, which has been a traditional seat of Congress and from this seat, former party chief Sonia Gandhi had won the elections in 2014 and 2019 even during the BJP wave, but this time Congress is waiting to choose its successor for this seat. . 77-year-old Sonia Gandhi was made a member of the Rajya Sabha by the Congress last month and after that there is speculation that a member of her family will contest from this seat which has been with the Congress since 1999. Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Manish Hindavi said, "The Congress high command will take a decision on this issue at an appropriate time." However, the party has started preparations for the elections there.

Brijbhushan Sharan Singh is the reason in Kaiserganj?

The atmosphere in Kaiserganj is not one of hope but of worry. Outgoing BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is the MLA from this seat and has been embroiled in serious allegations of sexual harassment leveled by some of India's top wrestlers for the last two years. Although it is also being said that he has lost his luster as a sports administrator, he still has considerable influence on the seat he won by 260,000 votes in 2019.

Unfazed by the delay in declaring the candidate, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has entered the fray in Kaiserganj with a long convoy, drawing the ire of the Election Commission for taking out a campaign procession with a convoy of 20-25, without the panel's permission. Have also suffered. An FIR was registered against him on April 13 for violating the model code of conduct.

Because of this, Kaiserganj is stuck in trouble

The six-time MP is also said to have good relations with the Samajwadi Party, whose chief Akhilesh Yadav had also refrained from commenting on Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh while the controversy was making national headlines. Singh joined the SP in 2008 after the BJP expelled him for cross-voting in the Lok Sabha on a no-confidence motion. He had again joined BJP before the 2014 general elections. Now BJP is in a dilemma. She is neither able to distance herself from Brij Bhushan nor is she able to take him with her in the Kaiserganj election fight.
