In a recent interview, Imran Khan, who studied at Oxford University and was a cricketer, blamed obscenity for the increase in rape cases in the country and also advised women to stay under veil. Imran said, "This society and lifestyle is completely different. So if you increase the temptation in the society to such an extent, and all these young people have nowhere to go, there will be consequences in the society." He further clarified his point by saying, "If a woman dresses too little If you wear it, it will have an effect on men, unless they are robots. I believe it is a matter of common sense.

Khan's statement against women and the purdah system has once again sparked outrage on social media. Earlier in April too, he had extended obscenity to sexual violence, pointing to Bollywood.
