Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has launched a scathing political offensive against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), targeting both the central and state administrations. In a series of sharp remarks shared on the social media platform X, Yadav addressed the ongoing controversies surrounding Ayodhya and the administrative decisions regarding Gram Pradhans in Uttar Pradesh, while within a span of just one hour, the former Chief Minister posted twice, meticulously critiquing the BJP's policies, its internal conduct, and its governance style. He notably characterized the Ayodhya situation as 'Lanka Kand', suggesting a significant political downfall for the ruling party.
The 'Lanka Kand' Metaphor and Divine Intervention
In one of his most provocative statements, Akhilesh Yadav asserted that the 'Lanka Kand' of the BJP would take place in Ayodhya itself. He claimed that the mask of those he termed 'devotees of donations' (Danbhakt) has finally fallen off, attributing this revelation to a miracle of divine power. Yadav's rhetoric drew heavily on mythological symbolism to describe the current political climate. He predicted the end of what he called the 'shining empire of the BJP's arrogance' and the downfall of its leadership, whom he referred to as 'Lankadhipati'.
Furthering his critique, Yadav remarked that the 'Amrit Kaal'—a term frequently used by the BJP to describe a period of national prosperity—has instead arrived as 'Kaal' (a period of doom) for the party. He took a swipe at the government's previous claims that resignations don't occur under its rule, while according to Yadav, the public, distressed by what he described as 'theft of offerings, donations, and contributions', is now mockingly observing the party's shift in terminology. He noted that BJP members are now claiming they didn't 'resign' (Istifa) but rather gave a 'letter of renunciation' (Tyagpatra), a distinction he found laughable.
Allegations of Corruption and the 'God's Audit'
The Samajwadi Party leader didn't stop at metaphors; he leveled serious allegations regarding financial and administrative conduct. He described the current revelations as merely the 'first chapter' of the alleged black deeds and misdeeds of the BJP and its associates, while yadav predicted an internal conflict within the various wings of the BJP ecosystem, including the party, the Sangh, various councils, and trusts, where they would eventually expose each other's secrets. He even suggested that borders should be closed to prevent individuals from fleeing with 'bags and sacks full of stolen goods'.
Yadav emphasized that this is only the beginning of a larger accountability process. He mentioned that along with the 'Care Fund', even unregistered individuals would have to account for their actions. He warned that the 'BJP gang' wouldn't be able to escape what he termed 'God's audit', implying that divine justice would prevail where administrative systems might have failed.
Criticism of NEET and the Gram Pradhan Decision
The controversy surrounding the Medical Entrance Examination (NEET) also featured in Yadav's critique. He mentioned that students appearing for NEET are now demanding the resignation of the 'Leekadhipati' (a pun on paper leaks), following the trend of recent resignations within the political sphere. This comment highlights the growing frustration among the youth regarding examination integrity.
In an earlier post, Akhilesh Yadav targeted the Uttar Pradesh government's administrative decisions. He pointed out a contradiction where the government is organizing sponsored programs for self-praise while simultaneously receiving a reprimand from the Honorable Allahabad High Court. The court recently declared the UP government's decision to appoint Gram Pradhans as administrators after the expiration of their terms as 'unconstitutional'. Yadav questioned what the punishment should be for performing such 'unconstitutional' acts, suggesting that the court's intervention has disrupted the government's celebratory narrative.
