It is not mandatory to have only Aadhar card for corona vaccination. Registration for vaccination on the CoWIN portal can be done with nine types of identity cards including Aadhar card. This matter was told by the Central Government in the Supreme Court on Monday. Actually, the petition challenging the acceptance of Aadhaar as an identity card only for corona vaccination was disposed of in the Supreme Court.

On behalf of the Ministry of Family Welfare, a bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Surya Kant was informed that registration for vaccination can be done using one of the nine identity documents including passport, driving license, PAN card, voter card, ration card. Is. The Supreme Court accepted the government's argument and said that it should be ensured that no person is deprived of vaccination due to non-availability of Aadhaar.

Actually, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court in this matter. Under this, it was said that only Aadhar card is being promoted on CoWin app. The complaint of the petitioner was that he was denied vaccination due to non-availability of Aadhar card. After the hearing, the Health Ministry has written a letter to the Principal Secretary, asking it to take action against the private vaccination center in Maharashtra which denied vaccination to the petitioner despite presenting a valid passport ID. It was told by the central government that about 87 lakh people have been vaccinated without ID cards.
