Delhi: For reservation in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, Saini, Mali, Kushwaha, Maurya and Shakya Samaj are continuing their protest by putting up tents on National Highway-21. The agitators have placed three demands before the government. Reservation should be given on the basis of population. The cases should be withdrawn and the matter of the society should be taken to the government. On Tuesday late night, the agitators held talks with the government. But Tourism Minister Vishvendra Singh was not involved in the talks. Bharatpur Divisional Commissioner Sanwarmal Verma held talks with the agitators. The agitators described the talks as positive. Convener of Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, Murari Lal said that the strike will continue on National Highway-21. The demand for 12 percent reservation will continue. Cabinet Minister Vishvendra Singh said that the agitators should first remove the dharna from the highway, then there will be talk.

Divisional commissioner said - the situation is under control

Divisional commissioner Sanwarmal Verma says that only the members of the Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, who are agitating, have not agreed. So no minister reached to meet Vishvendra Singh to talk on Tuesday. The situation is under control. The administration is trying its best to build consensus. It is noteworthy that in connection with the ongoing agitation in Aroda village of Bharatpur, the names of 58 agitators were registered at Lakhanpur police station. Along with this, a case was registered against one thousand other people. Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti has alleged that our youth are being threatened with dismissal, transfer and death. According to Murali Lal, his teacher son was transferred to Barmer. It is noteworthy that in view of the chaos on the National Highway, the administration has stopped internet service till June 15 in 4 tehsils of the district, Nadbai, Uchhain, Vair and Bhusawar.

Demand fulfilled only after survey of population

Saini, Mali, Maurya, Kushwaha and Suryavanshi Samaj in the 21 percent reservation of OBC, the demand of 12 percent reservation can be fulfilled only if the government conducts a survey of the population of these societies or a caste-based census. In the past, the report of the Special Backward Classes Reservation was submitted to the government by the Justice Israni Commission in November 2012. There was also no data related to the population of these societies. It was not even made public. At present, 92 castes are included in the OBC in the state, which are taking the benefit of 21 percent reservation. Five societies including Gurjars who came under OBC also fought a long battle for separate reservation and the government gave 5 percent MBC reservation. However, due to this reservation, the reservation limit in the state exceeded 50 percent and it was also challenged in the court, which is still under consideration. Now if Mali, Saini, Maurya, Kushwaha and Suryavanshi Samaj, who come under OBC, are given 12 percent reservation, then other societies including Jats included in OBC reservation quota may get angry with it.
