Anil Ambani News: The troubles of prominent businessman Anil Ambani are not stopping. After the interrogation of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), now the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also taken strict action against him. The CBI has raided several places related to Anil Ambani and his company Reliance Communications (RCom). This search operation is going on at 6 locations of Anil Ambani in Mumbai. According to sources, the CBI has registered a case of bank fraud against the company, in which the State Bank of India (SBI) has suffered a loss of more than Rs 2000 crore.

SBI had declared it "fraud"

SBI had categorized the case as "fraud" on June 13, 2025. This step was taken under the Fraud Risk Management Guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the board-approved policy of the bank. After this, on June 24, 2025, the bank informed the RBI about it and started the process of filing a complaint. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary had told in a written reply in the Lok Sabha last month that the bank has sent the fraud report to the RBI and the process of filing a complaint with the CBI has started. Now the CBI has formally registered a case and started action.

Serious questions raised in ED interrogation

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned 66-year-old Anil Ambani at its headquarters in New Delhi. This interrogation was related to the alleged bank loan scam of Rs 17,000 crore, which also includes allegations of money laundering. The ED questioned Anil Ambani for several hours, asking whether loans were given to shell companies, whether money was transferred to political parties, and whether any official was bribed. After the interrogation, he was called again after a week.

CBI action and future

The latest raid by the CBI and the registration of a bank fraud case is another big setback for Anil Ambani. This action can pose serious challenges to his business empire and Reliance Group companies. It is clear from this activity of the investigating agencies that the legal grip on Anil Ambani and his companies is getting tighter.
