Three soldiers and one civilian received minor injuries. In the encounter, the security forces have succeeded in killing two terrorists, including Lashkar's top terrorist commander Yusuf Kantru. Kashmir's Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar said that top Lashkar terrorist commander Yusuf Kantru has been killed in an encounter in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir. Three jawans and a civilian have received minor injuries.

At the same time, earlier on Wednesday, security forces have recovered a Chinese-made pistol and a Chinese grenade from a terrorist assistant at Papchan Naka in Bandipora. He has been identified as Umar Ajaz, a resident of Nabarpora. It is said that the security forces had received information that a person was going to pass through with a weapon.
