State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that on the lines of Bihar, caste census will be conducted in Rajasthan also. Last Friday, Congress Core Committee met in Jaipur and this proposal was passed in the meeting. Congress leader Sachin Pilot was also present in this meeting.

Regarding caste census, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that caste census will be conducted in Rajasthan also. The participation of various castes will be decided on the basis of data only. A proposal for caste census was passed in the Raipur session of Congress that like Bihar, caste census will be conducted in Rajasthan also. Everyone will participate. Rahul Gandhi has also said this. He said that the party intends to bring this to the fore. He said that this caste census will be on the pattern of Bihar.

He said that census is necessary so that the government can keep social security in mind while making plans. It can take care only when there is information about castes. When it is known about the population of a caste, a plan will be made as to what should be done for them. This will facilitate the government.

CM Ashok Gehlot's decision to conduct caste census in the state before the assembly elections is considered important because after the caste census in Bihar, the opposition has started efforts to corner the BJP government.

Politics heated up over caste census

On the other hand, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding caste census in Bihar. The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Bihar government in this regard and sought its reply. The Supreme Court has asked the Bihar government to respond to the notice within four weeks.

On one hand, this matter has reached the Supreme Court, while on the other hand, the politics of the country has heated up regarding the caste census. After Bihar, now other states are also announcing to conduct caste census. This is creating pressure on the BJP government at the Centre.
