Chinese Foreign Minister and NSA Wang Yi was on a visit to India on Friday amid deteriorating India-China relations. During this, he met National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. However, he wanted to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but it was refused by India.

According to reports, Wang Yi had come to India only to meet the Prime Minister. He also wanted to meet him on Friday, but the Prime Minister's Office in New Delhi refused it, citing the swearing-in ceremony of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Actually, PM Modi was in Lucknow on Friday.

Doval got an invitation

According to sources, Wang Yi has also invited Ajit Doval to visit China after meeting him. There has been a positive response from the NSA on this. It has been said from his side that after the resolution of the current issues, he can visit Beijing.

S Jaishankar said - slow progress of relations between the two countries

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar's statement came after delegation-level talks with the Chinese foreign minister on Friday. He said that the current situation between India and China, its progress is very slow. He said that he met with Wang Yi and during the meeting it was discussed to expedite it. Jaishankar said that during China's actions on the border in April 2020, bilateral relations between the two countries were affected, many obstacles in this. During the two years, the effect of tension in the border areas was seen between the two countries. We also have an agreement to strengthen this base and remove the difficulties being faced. The National Security Advisor also stressed on the compliance of international agreements on the border with China's NSA. Asked for a complete withdrawal of Chinese forces and discussed together to take bilateral relations to a new stage.
