Lok Sabha Election: Before the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress Party organized a press conference in Delhi on Thursday. During this time, National President of Congress Party Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi were present in this press conference. At the beginning of the press conference, Mallikarjun Kharge said that every citizen of the country is willing to participate in the elections. Fair elections are essential for any democracy. There should be a level playing field for all political parties. He said that the information or facts that have come to light regarding electoral bonds are worrying and shameful. BJP received 56 percent donations, while Congress received only 11 percent donations. This has never happened in the 70 years of India's democratic system. The Supreme Court is investigating this matter, so I hope the truth will come out soon.

What did Sonia Gandhi say?

Regarding this, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi said on this matter that we are working hard to make the election campaign effective. BJP has got huge benefit due to electoral bonds. We all believe that this is unconstitutional and undemocratic. Congress Party Treasurer Ajay Maken said in this regard that assessment notice has been sent to us for the year 1994-1995. What kind of democracy is this? We are being sent a notice for something that is 30-40 years old. For 0.7 per cent, a penalty of 126 per cent has been imposed on us. A penalty of Rs 210 crore has been imposed on us for Rs 14 lakh 40 thousand. Our bank account has been frozen. Election campaign, pamphlets etc. are not all money for election expenses. This is a violation of democracy. A notice of Rs 210 crore has been sent to us by the Income Tax Department.

What did Rahul Gandhi say?

While addressing the press, Rahul Gandhi said that there is no democracy left in the country. Our bank accounts have been frozen. We cannot spend in elections and cannot campaign in elections. Especially this is happening at a time when only 2 months are left for the elections. Our entire bank account and money has been frozen for just Rs 14 lakh. He said that we represent 20 percent of the public. But we cannot spend even Rs 2. No court is doing anything about this, nor is the Election Commission or the media saying anything in this regard. You all will be looted if you remain silent like this.
