Punjab Police / Congress MLA from Chandigarh Sukhpal Singh Khaira arrested, action in drugs case

Punjab Police: Punjab Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira has been arrested from Chandigarh in a drug related case. Sukhpal Khaira himself came live on Facebook and gave this information. Punjab Police team made the arrest after a raid at Khaira's Chandigarh house. This arrest has been made in an old case of 2015. According to the information, Congress MLA from Bhulath, Punjab, Sukhpal Khaira has been arrested by Jalalabad police on Thursday morning. Jalalabad police has reached Khaira's residence in Chandigarh. Police said that there was an old NDPS Act case against him, acting on it he was arrested.

Action has already been taken

Let us tell you that action has already been taken against Sukhpal Singh Khaira. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had earlier also called him for questioning in this case, from where he was arrested. ED had alleged that Khaira was an associate of drug case accused and fake passport racket. While filing the petition in Punjab Haryana, Khaira has told the High Court that a case registered against him under the NDPS Act in 2015 was pending against him. While this case was pending, a case of money laundering was also registered against the petitioner. The High Court had granted conditional bail to the petitioner in this case in January 2022. After this, he took refuge in the Supreme Court regarding the NDPS case.
