IND vs NZ | Leaving the T20 World Cup disappointment behind, the Indian team defeated New Zealand by five wickets in the first T20 International on Wednesday. In this match played in Jaipur, the heroes of India's victory were the new captain Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav. In this match, Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar was severely beaten, in which 42 runs were scored in his four overs. He got the only wicket in this match from New Zealand's smoky batsman Martin Guptill, who was dismissed after playing a blistering innings of 70 runs off 42 balls. His reaction became quite viral when Deepak dismissed Guptill on the next ball after consuming a six off the first ball of the 18th over of New Zealand's innings.

In fact, Guptill had stared at Deepak after hitting a six off the first ball of the same over, in response to which Deepak stared at him in an even better way while catching Guptill out. After the match ended, Deepak was also awarded the 'Amazing Moment Award' for staring at Guptill. In this match, except Bhuvneshwar Kumar, other fast bowlers could not show much in this match, due to which the New Zealand team scored 164 runs for six wickets while playing first.

Guptill contributed 70 runs for the team, while Mark Chapman scored 63 runs. At one point of time, it seemed that the New Zealand team would score 180, but off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin curbed the run rate by taking two wickets in the same over. Ashwin took two wickets for 23 runs in four overs and Bhuvneshwar took two wickets for 24 runs. Chasing the target of 165 runs, the Indian team got off to a great start by the pair of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma. However, Rahal could only score 15 runs. For India, captain Rohit contributed 48 while Suryakumar contributed 62 runs. Suryakumar was awarded the Man of the Match award for his brilliant innings.
