Lok Sabha Election: Major leaders of the constituent parties of the opposition alliance 'Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance' (India) will hold a digital meeting on Saturday on seat distribution in the 2024 elections. In the meeting, discussions will be held to strengthen the alliance, make strategy on seat sharing and appoint the coordinator of this alliance. Sources gave this information on Friday.

Meeting also on 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra'

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that along with seat distribution, 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' and some other topics will also be discussed in this meeting. Ramesh posted on Talks started on seat-sharing, participation in 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' going to start from Thoubal near Imphal on January 14 and other important matters will be reviewed. Mamta will not attend the meeting

Sources say that Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee will not attend the meeting to be held on Saturday morning, as she is busy with pre-planned programs. Sources said that appointing the coordinator of the opposition alliance will also be discussed in the meeting. According to sources, Janata Dal (United) is advocating making Bihar Chief Minister and its president Nitish Kumar the convenor, but Trinamool Congress is not in favor of it.

Decisive talks can be held on seat sharing

Mamata Banerjee had advocated the name of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for the post of convenor and prime ministerial candidate in the last meeting of the 'India' alliance. Sources say that decisive talks can also be held in this meeting regarding seat sharing. The National Alliance Committee of Congress has so far discussed with many allies regarding seat sharing.
