MP Election 2023: Even though Congress is claiming victory in Madhya Pradesh elections, the challenge regarding ticket distribution is no less. On Tuesday, during the screening committee meeting held in Delhi War Room, veteran Congress leaders of MP clashed with each other. According to sources, the dispute started when the other leaders raised the demand of region-wise ticket distribution in front of the Kamal Nath-Digvijay Singh faction.

Most of the meetings related to the election strategy of Congress are held in the War Room, which is at 15 Gurudwara Rakabganj Road. Here on Tuesday, the names of the candidates were to be discussed before finalizing the names of the candidates for the assembly elections. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, MP Digvijay Singh, Leader of Opposition Govind Singh, in-charge Randeep Surjewala, Working President Jitu Patwari, Ajay Singh, Screening Committee Chairman Bhawar Jitendra Singh, and other big leaders attended the meeting.

Lack of attention in ticket distribution

There was a lot of commotion in the marathon meeting that lasted for 10 hours. In fact, even before the meeting started, Executive Chairman Jitu Patwari appeared before the committee with his complaints. According to sources, his complaint was that he was not being given importance in ticket distribution on the basis of his height. After submitting the list of their names for tickets across the state, they left for Indore.

Kamal Nath's statement created uproar

After this, when the meeting started, the list of Jitu Patwari's displeasure was counted. On this, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath used words and said that regional leaders should name the candidates of their respective areas only and not more than that. Kamal Nath had just said that, Leader of Opposition Govind Singh and former President Arun Yadav raised the flag against this matter.

Ajay Singh put forward a proposal in the meeting

Actually, the pair of Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh, who were batting on the same pitch, wanted to dominate the ticket distribution. However, amid this debate, Kamal Nath and Digvijay were shocked when Arjun Singh's son and powerful leader, former opposition leader Ajay Singh alias Rahul Bhaiya proposed in the meeting.

Ajay Singh said that if we are being considered as the leader of a particular region in the state, then at least tickets should be distributed accordingly and there should be no interference in it. Seeing that the political move was backfiring, Kamal Nath protested against this. After that the atmosphere of the meeting became heated.

For your information, let us tell you that at present Madhya Pradesh is divided into 6 parts – Malwa Niwar, Gwalior Chambal, Mahakaushal, Central India, Vindhya and Bundelkhand. All other leaders demanded tickets on the basis of these particular areas.

Jitendra Singh intervened

Seeing the deteriorating atmosphere, Screening Committee Chairman Jitendra Singh calmed everyone down and tried to find a middle path. He cooled down Kamal Nath and other leaders. Explaining this, he said, let everyone give names, the rest will be decided on the basis of victory.

Names decided on 100 seats, approval yet to be done

According to information received from sources, a 10-hour marathon discussion took place on more than 150 out of 230 seats in the screening committee meeting of Madhya Pradesh Congress. But the biggest thing is that only one name for 100 seats has to be sent to the Central Election Committee. This means that out of 230 seats, the screening committee has decided on a candidate for 100 seats.

To approve these 100 names, there will be a meeting of the Central Election Committee on October 7, in which apart from President Kharge, Sonia and Raj Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi will also be present along with the members of the screening committee.
